The ÉcoPerformance program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption of businesses in Quebec by providing them with financial assistance to carry out energy analyses and energy efficiency and conversion projects in the business sector.

Overview of the ÉcoPerformance - Implementation of Major Industrial Projects Stream program:

The ÉcoPerformance program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption of businesses in Quebec by providing them with financial assistance to carry out energy analyses and energy efficiency and conversion projects in the business sector. This component aims to implement measures to reduce GHG emissions on industrial sites, but which have minimum investments of $15 million. These investments must be linked to GHG reduction. The participant may wish to implement a larger overall project that does not only include investments to reduce GHG emissions. For example, it could target other aspects such as compliance, productivity improvement or market adaptation, provided that the minimum investments to reduce GHGs are respected. For a project to be considered admissible, it must be located on an industrial site. This site and its participant in this component must be an industry subject to or a voluntary member of the cap-and-trade system for emissions allowances (SPEDE).

  • The financial assistance granted corresponds to the lesser of the following amounts:
  • Maximum per request and site - $40,000,000
Eligibility criteria of the ÉcoPerformance - Implementation of Major Industrial Projects Stream program:
  • EcoPerformance is offered to:
  • Companies or groups of companies in all sectors of activity (commercial, institutional, municipal, industrial, agricultural or manufacturing, including primary and secondary sectors) that consume fossil fuels or use processes that generate fugitive GHG emissions
  • It is aimed at both small and large energy consumers.
