The Heritage Grants Program, managed by the Central Okanagan Heritage Society since 2008, offers financial support for the upkeep of properties on Kelowna’s Heritage Register to preserve the city's built heritage.

Overview of the Heritage Grants Program program:

he Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program provides financial support to organizations involved in preserving Oklahoma's history and heritage. The program offers grants ranging from $500 to $20,000 for projects such as collections care, exhibit planning, educational programs, and other heritage-related activities. The goal is to support the conservation and promotion of Oklahoma's cultural heritage. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, historical societies, museums, and tribal entities. The program emphasizes projects that enhance public access to Oklahoma's history and heritage.

Benefits of the Heritage Grants Program program:
  • The objective of the program is to promote the conservation of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and agricultural heritage buildings by assisting owners with financial assistance towards the costs incurred in conservation work.
Eligibility criteria of the Heritage Grants Program program:
  • Any property listed on the Kelowna Heritage Register can apply.
  • The program focuses on exterior and building foundation (stabilization) work.
  • Conservation Work Requirements:
  • Must consider the "Character-defining Elements" as outlined in the Heritage Register Record (Statement of Significance - SOS). The record is accessible at Heritage Register Record.
  • Grant Priority:
  • First priority: Heritage Designated properties.
  • Second priority: Residential properties.
  • Third priority: Non-residential buildings.
  • Additional Conditions:
  • Grants will not be provided for work completed prior to a successful grant application.
  • Municipal property taxes must be fully paid, if applicable.
