Overview of the Small Tool Grants program:

This Tools and Supplies Grant program is designed to support artists and craftspeople by providing financial assistance for the purchase of essential tools and supplies needed for their creative work. The program aims to help individuals enhance their craftsmanship and improve the quality of their artistic products.

Benefits of the Small Tool Grants program:
  • Carving Tools Grant: Up to $1,000 is available to assist with the purchase of carving tools. This grant is ideal for sculptors, woodworkers, and other artists who require specialized tools to create their work. Eligible applicants can receive this grant once every five years.
  • Sewing Machine Grant: Up to $2,500 is available to assist with the purchase of a sewing machine. This grant is designed for textile artists, fashion designers, and other craftspeople who need a high-quality sewing machine for their projects. Eligible applicants can receive this grant only once in their lifetime.
Eligibility criteria of the Small Tool Grants program:
  • To be eligible for the Tools and Supplies Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Artists and Craftspeople: The applicant must be an individual who practices as an artist or craftsperson, such as a carver, sculptor, textile artist, or fashion designer.
  • Specific Purpose: The funds must be used solely for the purchase of carving tools or a sewing machine, depending on the grant applied for.
  • Previous Grant Recipients: Applicants for the carving tools grant must not have received the same grant within the past five years. Applicants for the sewing machine grant can only apply once in their lifetime.
  • Demonstrated Need: The applicant should be able to demonstrate the necessity of the tools or sewing machine for their artistic practice.
