Overview of the The Path Towards Apprenticeship program:

The Trade Pathways Program is designed to support Canadian businesses in expanding their reach into international markets. This program helps companies navigate the complexities of global trade by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and expert guidance to successfully enter and thrive in new markets. The program is tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to increase their export capabilities and grow their business on a global scale.

Benefits of the The Path Towards Apprenticeship program:
  • Its not easy getting started in the trades. Well help make it easier. Once enrolled, participants receive:
  • An industry quality tool package
  • Vouchers for workwear and personal protective equipment (boots, outerwear, thermals)
  • Transit passes and a ride-share budget
  • Training for everything from basic safety certifications like fall protection and first aid to operator training for telescopic booms, skid steers, and forklifts
  • Up to six weeks of financial support and training
  • One year of tuition paid for any employer-sponsored apprenticeship
  • Participants can work as many as three separate 90-day work experience placements
Eligibility criteria of the The Path Towards Apprenticeship program:
  • To be eligible for Trade Pathways you must be:
  • Between the ages of 18 and 35
  • An Alberta resident
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Available for full-time work
