This program provides up to $200,000 of funding for galleries looking for financial support to cover staffing, program administration, arts-related infrastructure, and gallery expenses.

Eligibility criteria of the Arts Operating Fund program:
  • To be eligible for this program you must:
    • Must be registered and in good standing under the NWT Societies Act and have been in existence for at least one year before the deadline that provides opportunities for education, creation, and exhibition for the arts
    • The headquarters and primary location of operation is in the NWT with at least one part-time or full-time staff person
    • Not be receiving funding from either the Medium Arts Project Grant or Large Arts Project Fund
    • Have delivered and reported on at least two Medium Arts Project Grant or Large Arts Project Fund projects in the prior three years, an NWT Arts Council Grant, or equivalent activity
