Overview of the Web Presence Assistance program:

The Web Presence Assistance Program offered by the Government of Prince Edward Island is designed to help businesses and organizations establish or enhance their online presence. This program provides financial support to cover the costs associated with developing and improving websites, e-commerce platforms, and other digital marketing tools, ensuring that businesses can effectively reach and engage with customers online.

Benefits of the Web Presence Assistance program:
  • An eligible business can access support for eligible costs related to:
  • Registration of a domain name;
  • Design, development, and hosting of a website. Website design may include e-commerce, search engine and mobile optimization, scheduling functions, voice technology, chatbot, social media integration, and other functions that improve the user experience and effectiveness of the website; or
  • Social media and online advertising to support the launch of the new website may be eligible if requested in the application, and if the maximum contribution level for the applicable tier has not been reached; recurring advertising costs are not eligible.
  • H.S.T. payments are not considered an eligible expense item.
Eligibility criteria of the Web Presence Assistance program:
  • To qualify for the Web Presence Assistance program, a business or local non-profit organization must be located in Prince Edward Island and either:
  • Does not currently have a website, or
  • Is upgrading an existing website to add e-commerce capabilities for the first time.
  • Eligible businesses can receive support for the following costs:
  • Domain Name Registration:
  • Costs related to registering a domain name for the website.
  • Website Design, Development, and Hosting:
  • This includes the design and development of a website, which may incorporate e-commerce features, search engine optimization (SEO), mobile optimization, scheduling functions, voice technology, chatbots, social media integration, and other enhancements that improve user experience and website effectiveness.
  • Social Media and Online Advertising:
  • Support may be provided for social media and online advertising to promote the launch of the new website if requested in the application, provided the maximum contribution level for the applicable tier has not been reached. However, recurring advertising costs are not eligible.
