Overview of the Joint Venture Program program:

The Joint Venture Program offered by the First Peoples Economic Growth Fund (FPEGF) is designed to support partnerships between First Nations entrepreneurs and non-Indigenous businesses. This program aims to foster economic development within First Nations communities in Manitoba by encouraging the formation of joint ventures that combine resources, expertise, and market opportunities. By facilitating these partnerships, the program helps to create sustainable business ventures that contribute to the economic empowerment of First Nations communities.

Eligibility criteria of the Joint Venture Program program:
  • First Nations Involvement: To be eligible, the joint venture must involve a First Nations entrepreneur or community in Manitoba as a key partner. The First Nations partner must have a meaningful role in the management and operations of the business.
  • Partnership with Non-Indigenous Business: The joint venture must also involve a non-Indigenous business partner. This partner can bring additional expertise, market access, or capital to the venture.
  • Business Viability: The proposed joint venture must demonstrate a viable business plan, including clear financial projections, a well-defined market opportunity, and a strategy for achieving profitability. The business should be capable of generating economic benefits for the First Nations community involved.
