The Sustainability Venture Fund, established by the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), is a $150 million initiative aimed at investing in early-stage Canadian companies developing technologies that contribute to a net-zero economy.

Launched in April 2023, the Sustainability Venture Fund focuses on supporting businesses that align with four key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Sustainable cities and communities Responsible consumption and production Climate action Affordable and clean energy The fund targets companies with Software as a Service (SaaS), hardware-enabled software, and software-led business models. It invests in seed to Series A and B rounds, emphasizing scalable and economically durable Canadian companies that are creating sustainability-enhancing technology systems with light capital requirements over time.
