Overview of the Market Development Travel program:

The Market Development Travel Grant Program offered by the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) supports Ontario-based artists and arts organizations to develop new markets for their work outside of the province. This grant provides financial assistance for travel, helping individuals and groups to promote their artistic work in new markets and make valuable connections that could lead to future opportunities.

Benefits of the Market Development Travel program:
  • Increased Market Exposure: It allows artists to present their work in new domestic or international markets, gaining visibility and recognition.
  • Networking Opportunities: By attending events, fairs, exhibitions, or festivals, artists can network with industry professionals, potentially opening doors for collaboration or future funding opportunities.
  • Business Development: Supports the expansion of sales, bookings, commissions, and other business-related growth activities.
  • Financial Support: The program offsets travel expenses, reducing the financial burden of pursuing market expansion opportunities.
