Overview of the Impact Grant program:

Turn your neuroCAM research into something that makes a real difference in the community.

Benefits of the Impact Grant program:
  • Examples of Projects Branch Out is Looking For:
    • Community Collaboration: Partner with a community organization for an event.
    • Workshops and Seminars: Host workshops or seminars to engage the community with your research.
    • Interactive Exhibits: Create interactive exhibits or demonstrations to showcase your research to the public.
    • Educational Materials: Develop educational materials, such as brochures or videos, to explain NeuroCAM concepts.
    • Online Platforms: Set up online platforms or webinars to reach a broader audience.
    • Public Awareness Campaigns: Launch campaigns to raise awareness about the benefits of NeuroCAM.
    • School Programs: Develop programs to introduce NeuroCAM research to schools and educational institutions.
    • Knowledge Translation Event: Educate individuals with lived experience about NeuroCAM.
    • Commercialization Process: Initiate steps to bring your research to market.
    • Publishing Fees: Cover costs for open access publishing.
    • Travel Costs: Fund travel to share research ideas (when permissible).
Eligibility criteria of the Impact Grant program:
  • To qualify for funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Community Impact: Funds must be used to benefit people in the community.
  • University Affiliation: Applicants must be affiliated with one of Branch Outs partnering universities:
  • University of Alberta
  • University of Calgary
  • University of Lethbridge
  • University of Northern British Columbia
  • University of Toronto
  • University of Saskatchewan
  • University of Victoria
  • MacEwan University
  • Mount Royal University
  • Project Requirements: NeuroCAM research must be part of the project. Funds cannot be used for research costs.
  • Mentorship: Having a community partner as a mentor is recommended.
  • Budget: The budget must be reasonable, and cost-saving measures will improve competitiveness.
  • Consultation: Selected projects must consult with Branch Out to promote success.
  • Acknowledgment: Funded projects should acknowledge Branch Out as a sponsor.
  • Future Consideration: If we cannot fund your application in the current quarter, we will keep it on file for up to one year for future consideration.
