Overview of the New Horizons for Seniors Program program:

The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal initiative by the Government of Canada aimed at empowering seniors and enhancing their quality of life. The program provides funding for community-based projects that encourage seniors to contribute to their communities, stay active, and lead fulfilling lives.

Eligibility criteria of the New Horizons for Seniors Program program:
  • To be eligible for NHSP funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Applicant Type: The program is open to non-profit organizations, municipal governments, Indigenous organizations, and for-profit enterprises with specific mandates to support seniors.
  • Project Scope: Projects must be community-based and align with one or more of the NHSPs objectives.
  • Target Group: Initiatives should directly benefit seniors, especially those at risk of social isolation or those with limited access to community resources.
