  • Enhance Health Outcomes: Promote digital health research and innovation in Alberta to improve health outcomes.
  • Boost Economic Benefits: Maximize economic benefits through advanced digital health initiatives.
  • Support Local Innovators: Aid Alberta-based researchers and innovators in advancing digital health.
  • Leverage Partnerships: Utilize partner relationships to foster digital health innovation in Alberta.
Eligibility criteria of the LevMax-Health program:
  • The LevMax-Health Program is open to:
  • Alberta-based post-secondary institutions
  • Active or Previous LevMax-Health Investments:
  • Applicants can hold only one active LevMax grant at a time.
  • Those who have previously held LevMax investments should contact the LevMax Program Lead.
  • Other Active Alberta Innovates Investments:
  • Applicants currently holding other active Alberta Innovates investments are strongly encouraged to contact the LevMax Program Lead.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Must be authorized to undertake the proposed project and execute a grant with Alberta Innovates on standard terms.
  • Must not be prohibited from receiving Alberta Innovates funding (e.g., due to past bad debt or poor financial standing with Alberta Innovates, InnoTech Alberta, or C-FER Technologies).
  • Note: The LevMax competition is not open to individual scholarship or fellowship applications from graduate students or postdoctoral fellows.
  • Project Eligibility
  • To qualify for funding, projects must:
  • Align with the objectives of the LevMax-Health Program.
  • Align with at least one of the thematic areas outlined above.
  • Have received results (competition score and peer review comments) from a Tri-agency competition within a specified date but were not funded.
  • Include key measurable milestones with deliverables and critical "go/no-go" decision points.
  • Submit any additional criteria or documentation that Alberta Innovates may require.
