Overview of the Record Product Marketing Fund program:

The Music Recording Production Fund offered by Manitoba Film & Music (MFM) is designed to support Manitoba-based musicians and music production companies in the creation and promotion of their recordings. This program aims to enhance the quality and competitiveness of music produced in Manitoba, providing essential funding to help artists bring their music to market.

Benefits of the Record Product Marketing Fund program:
  • The Music Recording Production Fund provides financial support to help cover the costs associated with recording, producing, and promoting music. Depending on the scale of the project, eligible applicants can receive up to 50% of the total project costs, with a maximum contribution of:
  • $10,000 for a full-length album,
  • $3,000 for an EP (Extended Play),
  • $1,500 for a single recording.
  • This funding allows artists and producers to focus on creating high-quality music without being overwhelmed by financial constraints. It also enhances their ability to market and promote their work effectively, increasing the likelihood of commercial success.
Eligibility criteria of the Record Product Marketing Fund program:
  • To be eligible for the Music Recording Production Fund, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Residency: Applicants must be residents of Manitoba and must have lived in the province for at least six months prior to applying.
  • Professional Status: Applicants should be professional musicians or music production companies actively involved in the music industry.
  • Previous Work: Applicants must have a history of commercially released music or demonstrate a significant contribution to music projects.
