  • Biotalent
Overview of the Student Work Placement Program program:

The Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) by BioTalent Canada provides financial support to employers in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors to hire students for work placements. The program aims to bridge the gap between post-secondary students and the industry, offering students practical, hands-on experience while helping companies access emerging talent.

Benefits of the Student Work Placement Program program:
  • Wage Subsidies: Employers can receive up to 75% of the student's wages, to a maximum of $7,500 per placement.
  • Talent Acquisition: Companies can engage with motivated and skilled students who could potentially become future employees.
  • Enhanced Innovation: Fresh perspectives from students can drive innovation and bring new ideas to your business.
  • Risk Mitigation: With wage subsidies, the financial risk of hiring is significantly reduced, allowing companies to invest in students' development confidently.
Eligibility criteria of the Student Work Placement Program program:
  • Employers: Any biotechnology, healthcare, or related sector company in Canada that can offer quality work experience relevant to the students field of study.
  • Students: Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or those with refugee status enrolled in a post-secondary institution. The student must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
