  • Ontario Art Council
Overview of the Touring and Circulation Projects program:

The Touring and Circulation Projects Program by the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) provides funding for Ontario-based artists and organizations to showcase their work outside their home communities. The program helps expand audience reach across Ontario, Canada, and internationally, supporting tours with confirmed engagements, such as performances or exhibitions. Categories: Tour: For individual artists, groups, and organizations. Large-scale Tour: For organizations planning extensive tours. Eligible tours must include at least three distinct engagements. Tours can also involve audience-building and networking activities. Engagements must generally be outside the applicant's home city or town, with exceptions for Ontario school tours. Environmentally sustainable practices, such as longer stays or hybrid (virtual and in-person) tours, are encouraged.

Benefits of the Touring and Circulation Projects program:
  • Expanded Audience Reach: Artists can present their work to new and diverse audiences, helping to increase visibility and recognition beyond their home region.
  • Increased Revenue Streams: Touring can generate additional income through performance fees, sales of work, or other forms of remuneration.
  • Professional Development: Touring offers artists and organizations the opportunity to grow their professional networks and develop partnerships in different communities.
  • Cultural Exchange: By touring outside their local communities, artists can engage in cultural exchanges, learn from different audiences, and collaborate with other creatives.
Eligibility criteria of the Touring and Circulation Projects program:
  • Location: Applicants must be Ontario-based. Both artists and arts organizations that are residents of Ontario and primarily operate in Ontario are eligible.
  • Who is the Program For?
