The Yukon Small Business Investment Tax Credit (YSBITC) is a program designed to support businesses in the Yukon by encouraging local investment. This program allows Yukon businesses to raise capital by offering a tax credit to Yukon residents who invest in eligible local companies. The program aims to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and foster a thriving business environment in the Yukon.

Benefits of the Yukon Venture Loan Guarantee Program program:
  • For Businesses: Yukon-based companies can raise capital more easily by offering a 25% tax credit to investors. This incentive makes investing in local businesses more attractive, helping businesses secure the funds needed to grow, expand, or innovate.
  • For Investors: Yukon residents who invest in eligible businesses can claim a 25% tax credit on their investments, reducing their personal income tax liability. This credit applies to investments of up to $1 million per year.
Eligibility criteria of the Yukon Venture Loan Guarantee Program program:
  • New business start-ups; or
  • Expansions of businesses in Yukon that have less than $5 million in gross revenue and less than 100 employees.
  • Eligible businesses must be registered in Yukon and pay Yukon corporate taxes.
