Overview of the Acadian and Francophone Culture Fund program:

The Acadian and Francophone Culture Fund is a grant program offered by the Government of Prince Edward Island, aimed at supporting the cultural development and vitality of the Acadian and Francophone communities in the province. This fund is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage, language, and culture of these communities, ensuring that they continue to thrive and contribute to the broader cultural landscape of Prince Edward Island.

Benefits of the Acadian and Francophone Culture Fund program:
  • Financial assistance is offered for the development and promotion of a cultural experience that reinforces PEIs vibrant Francophonie. This fund will support up to 60 per cent of a project or activity that:
  • Has a strong Francophone component; and
  • Can be completed between April 1st and March 31st of the fiscal year in which funding is received; and
  • The project contributes to reinforcing and promoting PEIs Francophonie.
  • Financial assistance is offered in two components:
  • Component 1- Marketing/promotion: assistance towards the cost of developing promotional material or activities, e.g. posters, brochures, rack cards, ads, web pages, themed tours, half-day, full-day or multi-day itineraries, etc.
  • Component 2- Project development: assistance to offer (plan, organize and promote) a festival and cultural activity/experience.
  • Your application may be a combination of both components.
Eligibility criteria of the Acadian and Francophone Culture Fund program:
  • Eligible Activities: Funding can be used for a wide range of cultural activities, including but not limited to:
  • Artistic performances and exhibitions
  • Cultural festivals and events
  • Educational programs and workshops focused on Acadian and Francophone culture
  • Preservation and documentation of Acadian and Francophone heritage
  • Production of cultural publications, media, and digital content
  • Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants: The program is open to individuals, non-profit organizations, cultural groups, and institutions that are based in Prince Edward Island and are involved in the promotion or preservation of Acadian and Francophone culture.
  • Projects: Eligible projects must align with the objectives of the fund, focusing on the promotion, preservation, and enhancement of Acadian and Francophone culture within the province. Projects should have a clear cultural impact and demonstrate community support.
