The Alfred Anucha Award in Entrepreneurship (A3E) will provide financial assistance and entrepreneurship support to other young Black entrepreneurs like Alfred in partnership with YSpace and the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance (BEA) at York University.

The Alfred Anucha Community Impact Award, offered through York University's YSpace, recognizes and supports students and community members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to positive community impact. This award is named in honor of Alfred Anucha, a dedicated advocate for social change and community development.

Eligibility criteria of the Alfred Anucha Award in Entrepreneurship program:
  • To be eligible for the Alfred Anucha Community Impact Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Affiliation:
  • Must be a current student of York University or a member of the broader community- York University Alumni are welcomed.
  • Community Impact:
  • Applicants must have demonstrated a significant positive impact on their community through innovative projects, initiatives, or ongoing efforts. The focus can be in areas such as:
  • Social justice
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Education
  • Health
  • Economic development
  • Commitment to Growth:
  • Applicants should show a clear plan for how the award will help them expand their community impact. This could include scaling existing projects, launching new initiatives, or furthering the reach of their work.
  • Application Submission:
  • Applicants must submit a comprehensive application detailing their contributions, the impact of their work, and their vision for utilizing the award to enhance their community efforts.
