Overview of the Empowered startups - Global startup accelerator program:

The Canada Startup Visa Program is designed to attract innovative entrepreneurs from around the world who are ready to launch and grow their startups in Canada. The program offers a unique pathway to permanent residency for entrepreneurs who have the potential to build successful businesses in Canada that can compete on a global scale.

  • Innovation Ecosystem: Benefit from Canada's strong support for innovation, including access to research institutions, skilled talent, and a thriving tech ecosystem.
Eligibility criteria of the Empowered startups - Global startup accelerator program:
  • Have a Qualifying Business: The business must be incorporated in Canada, and the applicant must hold at least 10% of the voting rights in the company.
  • Additionally, no other party may hold 50% or more of the voting rights.
  • Obtain a Letter of Support: Entrepreneurs must secure a commitment from a designated organization (venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator) that is willing to support their startup.
  • Meet Language Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in either English or French by taking an approved language test and meeting the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5.
  • Have Sufficient Settlement Funds: Entrepreneurs must show they have enough money to support themselves and their family after they arrive in Canada.
