Overview of the Family Innovations Scale Grant program:

The Family Innovations Scale Grant focuses on building the capacity of grassroots groups to: Enhance Impact: Refine and improve the quality of existing projects to create meaningful and sustainable changes in the lives of parents, guardians, and caregivers. Expand Reach: Increase the scope of successful projects to serve more families or additional communities, ensuring wider access to impactful programs and services. Address Systemic Barriers: Tackle challenges and inequities faced by Indigenous and Black families, such as barriers related to education, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunities. Projects funded by this grant are led by parents and caregivers who draw from their lived experiences to co-design and deliver programs that reflect the unique needs of their communities. Funding covers a wide range of project-related expenses, including staffing, training, outreach, program materials, and administrative costs. The grant prioritizes initiatives that empower families through innovative strategies, foster collaboration, and drive long-term social and economic improvements for communities facing systemic challenges.

Eligibility criteria of the Family Innovations Scale Grant program:
  • To qualify for the Family Innovations Scale Grant, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Applicant Type:
  • Be a grassroots group, not registered as a charity or incorporated not-for-profit.
  • Project Requirements:
  • Demonstrate a track record of delivering core project activities for at least two years.
  • Propose an enhancement or expansion of an existing project that has shown measurable success.
  • Demographic Focus:
  • Projects must primarily benefit parents, guardians, and caregivers.
  • Initiatives should prioritize Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) or Black families in Ontario.
  • Geography:
  • Projects must operate within Ontario.
  • Ineligible Applicants:
  • Registered charities, for-profit organizations, and provincial or federal government bodies are not eligible.
