The 2024 Sport Event Hosting Grant offers financial support to eligible organizations hosting sanctioned recreation and amateur sports events in Edmonton, including provincial, Western Canadian, national, or international competitions.

This grant supports registered non-profit organizations that organize events enhancing Edmonton's reputation as a premier destination for sporting competitions. Eligible events must be endorsed by a recognized governing body and determine champions at the provincial, national, or international level. The grant assists with expenses like facility rentals, equipment, adjudication fees, awards, publicity, and participant transportation within the city. Events must be inclusive and open to all eligible participants, not limited to specific groups or clubs. However, banquets, conferences, and events hosted by educational institutions are not eligible.
