It is tailored to individuals aged 18 and older who are not currently attending school and who are launching or expanding a small business in Markham. Eligibility criteria of the Starter Company Plus Program - Markham program:
  • To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Not currently enrolled in school full-time or part-time
  • Be a resident of Ontario and legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Be starting, expanding, or purchasing a small business in Markham
  • Be able to commit to full-time entrepreneurship
  • The business must be a sole proprietorship or corporation operating at arms length from other businesses
  • Franchises, commissioned sales, multi-level marketing, and non-profits are not eligible
  • Participants must complete training and submit a viable business plan to receive funding
