Training Assistance Program (TAP)

Overview of the Training Assistance Program (TAP) program:

TAP provides funding for short-term training courses that are not eligible for other financial assistance programs. The program focuses on: Skill Development: Enabling participants to acquire specific skills required for employment. Employment Readiness: Assisting individuals in becoming job-ready through targeted training. Community Engagement: Supporting training that meets the labor market needs of Nunavut communities. Eligible training may include certifications, workshops, or courses that directly contribute to employment opportunities.

Eligibility criteria of the Training Assistance Program (TAP) program:

• Eligible trainees:
• Trainees must be 15 years or older.
• Trainees must be a resident of Nunavut.
• Trainees should be unemployed and require skill upgrading.
• Trainees must be training in a full-time, part-time or seasonable job.
• Eligible employers:
• Non-profit organizations, municipal governments, private sector employers, Inuit organizations or industry associations.
