The Artist Manager Program Funding provided by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts offers financial support for professional development activities of artist managers and self-managed artists in Alberta. The program can fund up to $1,500 CAD per application, covering costs related to travel, accommodation, and registration for conferences, workshops, and training sessions. The funding aims to enhance the business skills and career development of those managing artists' careers.

  • These expenses may include, but are not limited to:
  • Registration costs
  • Round-trip transportation to/from Alberta and Toronto, ON
  • Local transportation and accommodation
  • Food, sundries and per diems
  • Other expenses and supplies considered by the AFA to be reasonable and necessary

  • Eligibility for Individual Project Funding:
  • Must be a resident of Alberta:
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Person with an open work or study permit from inside Canada
  • Primary residence in Alberta for at least one year before applying
  • Ordinarily live in Alberta for at least six months per year, except for attending formal study programs
  • Must be in good standing with AFA:
  • No open or outstanding projects or reporting requirements
  • All final reports from previous grants must be approved
  • Restrictions:
  • Cannot be incorporated under provincial or federal legislation
  • Cannot apply for or receive funding for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Can only receive this grant once during a career
