CFEP Large aims to foster healthy, vibrant communities across Alberta by supporting non-profit organizations in developing and improving public-use facilities. Eligible projects include the acquisition, construction, renovation, or expansion of facilities that serve arts, cultural, heritage, recreational, or sport purposes. The program operates on a matching basis, requiring applicants to contribute an amount equal to or exceeding the CFEP grant request towards the project's expenses. Matching resources can include cash, donated labor, equipment, or materials. The program has a two-step application process: an Expression of Interest (EOI) followed by an invitation to submit a full application for eligible projects. The EOI submission deadline is typically in mid-May, with invitations to apply issued by mid-June. Projects must be completed within 30 months from the date the grant agreement is signed.

  • Indigenous communities, including First Nations and Metis Settlements.
  • Ineligible Applicants
  • Municipalities and their affiliates.
  • For-profit organizations and businesses.
  • Organizations providing services primarily for private sector benefit.
  • Schools, universities, colleges, or other educational institutions.
  • Applicants with overdue or incomplete grant reporting for any government funding.
