Overview of the Community Grant Program (Moose Jaw) program:

The Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant Program (CGP) supports non-profit organizations in Saskatchewan by funding sports, culture, and recreation projects. The program is administered through local governments and aims to ensure equitable access regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, economic status, or physical or mental ability. A portion of the grant must specifically address the needs of target populations, including Indigenous people, seniors, women, economically disadvantaged individuals, persons with disabilities, new Canadians, and single parents. The goals of this grant program are: • to provide access to sport, culture, and recreation programs for all Saskatchewan people regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, economic status, physical, or mental ability; • to support the development and maintenance of sport, culture, and recreation programs and activities; and, • to increase the awareness of the benefits of participation in sport, culture, and recreation programs as a way of improving individual health, well-being, and self-fulfillment.

  • Provides funding for community-based sports, culture, and recreation initiatives.
  • Promotes inclusive participation among underrepresented groups.
  • Enables volunteer-led organizations to implement impactful local projects.
Eligibility criteria of the Community Grant Program (Moose Jaw) program:
  • Be an active incorporation under the Non-Profit Corporations Act;
  • A sport, recreation, and/or culture organization directly servicing the
  • Citizens of Moose Jaw;
  • Not have any outstanding grant applications with the City of Moose Jaw;
  • Organizations can apply for funding in each of the three categories.
  • However, application forms will not be accepted in different categories
  • For the same event or program;
  • Applications that demonstrate a greater financial need may be
  • Given priority;
  • Must address the goals of the Framework for Recreation in Canada
  • 2015;
  • Application of larger scale events may be given priority; and
  • New applications may be given priority to ongoing annual events.
