Overview of the Gender Equity Grant program:

The Gender Equity Grant empowers local communities by funding grassroots projects that address historical and social gender disparities. These projects may focus on a range of activities, including education campaigns, community programs, policy development, and applied research. The ultimate goal is to enhance the capacity of organizations and communities to drive meaningful change in gender equity, while also addressing systemic barriers that have historically marginalized certain gender groups. This initiative reflects GNWT’s commitment to creating inclusive communities where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of gender. The Gender Equity Grant supports projects that align with one or more of the following objectives: Addressing Inequalities: Developing programs and services that target historical and social gender-based disparities. Awareness and Education: Promoting community awareness, social action, or education campaigns that highlight the importance of gender equity.
