Project Accelerator Grant

Overview of the Project Accelerator Grant program:

The Project Accelerator Grant, offered by the Edmonton Heritage Council, is designed to support local individuals and organizations in Edmonton who are working on heritage-related projects. This grant provides funding to help accelerate the development, implementation, and completion of projects that explore, document, or interpret Edmonton’s heritage.

• Funding: Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support heritage projects. This funding can cover various project-related costs such as research, documentation, equipment, materials, and professional fees.
• Heritage Focus: The grant supports projects that contribute to a deeper understanding of Edmontons history, culture, and heritage, encouraging innovative and meaningful exploration of the citys past.
• Community Impact: By supporting these projects, the grant helps enhance public engagement with Edmontons heritage and contributes to the preservation and celebration of local history.

Eligibility criteria of the Project Accelerator Grant program:

• To be eligible for a Project Accelerator Grant:
• The applicant must be an individual, registered nonprofit society, or collective of individuals whose
• Residence or location of work is in the Edmonton
• Metropolitan region.
• The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or
• Permanent resident over the age of 18.
• The applicant cannot have already been awarded
• An HCIP Project Accelerator Grant during the
• Current calendar year.
• The applicant must be up to date with final reports
• For other HCIP-funded work, including returning and
• Unused grant funds. Applicants who have been
• Granted extensions on other HCIP-funded work are
• Also not eligible to apply.
• The project must explore Edmontons heritage and
• Provide a demonstrated benefit to Edmonton
• Residents.
• The project must have clear start and end dates with
• A specific scope of activities distinct from ongoing
• Operations or programs
