BUSINESS COUNSELING

To provide free marketing advice and counselling for small Manitoba business owners and operators from successful business practitioners.
  • Manitoba Marketing Network
Overview of the BUSINESS COUNSELING program:

The Manitoba Marketing Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to Manitoba’s small business community. It is run by volunteers, and since its inception in 1985, the MMN has assisted over 5,500 businesses through its services. The MMN provides workshops and facilitates networking events to help entrepreneurs develop that “winning edge” and successfully grow their businesses.

Benefits of the BUSINESS COUNSELING program:
  • Business Plan: The first step is to confirm if you have a business plan. If not, the MMN staff will email you the MMN Business Template to start working on before your second meeting. They will support you throughout the process.
  • Vision: Next, you will discuss your vision for the business, including the requirements to achieve your goals. The staff will ask you to document and present this at your next meeting.
  • Responsibilities: Discuss your operational and management responsibilities. You'll need to document and list these responsibilities, helping to identify your core skills and any gaps.
  • Assessment and Action Plan: The final step is to assess your skills and identify 3-5 key activities for business success. Time permitting, you will begin implementing your expertise, whether it's completing your business plan, identifying your target market, or other essential tasks.
