Overview of the Canada Apprentice Loan program:

The Canada Apprentice Loan Program is designed to support apprentices in designated Red Seal trades by offering them financial assistance in the form of interest-free loans. This program helps apprentices manage the costs associated with their training, allowing them to focus on acquiring the skills necessary for their trade without the immediate burden of repayment.

Benefits of the Canada Apprentice Loan program:
  • The Canada Apprentice Loan Program offers several benefits:
  • Interest-Free Loans: Apprentices can receive up to $4,000 per period of technical training. These loans are interest-free while the apprentice is in school and for six months after completing or leaving their training.
  • No Immediate Repayment: Apprentices do not need to start repaying the loan until after the interest-free period ends, providing financial relief during their training.
  • Multiple Loans: Apprentices can apply for multiple loans if they are completing more than one period of technical training.
