  • Companies: For companies, the majority of ownership (at least 50%) must be held by Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Canadian Content
  • Projects: The project must predominantly feature Canadian content. This includes ensuring that the majority of the participants (artists, producers, etc.) are Canadian, and the project itself promotes Canadian culture.
  • Registered with FACTOR
  • Applicant Registration: You must have an active profile registered in the FACTOR portal. This profile will include details about your career, company, or organization, and must be kept up to date.
  • Company Profile: If you are applying as a company, you must have a registered company profile that meets FACTORs requirements.
  • Professional Standing
  • Music Industry Experience: Applicants, whether individual artists or companies, must demonstrate a certain level of experience and professionalism in the music industry. This includes a track record of released works, live performances, or other relevant activities.
  • Business Entities: Companies applying for funding should be established businesses with a history of contributing to the Canadian music industry, such as record labels, music publishers, or management companies.
  • Compliance with FACTOR Policies
  • Past Funding: If you have received FACTOR funding in the past, you must have complied with all terms and conditions of that funding, including timely submission of reports and adherence to project budgets.
