Provides funding to help eligible Canadian production, distribution, and sales companies promote and market Canadian feature films at international film festivals.

Overview of the International Promotion Program program:

The Canada Feature Film Fund (“CFFF”) of Telefilm Canada (“Telefilm”) seeks to improve the long-term viability of the Canadian audiovisual industry. The CFFF’s International Promotion Program (the “Program”), previously known as the Participation at International Festivals and Events Support Program, is aimed at encouraging the international promotion of Canadian audiovisual works through participation in international festivals and events. The Program reflects Telefilm’s priority of supporting the Canadian film industry to achieve new levels of success by supporting the marketing and promotion of Canadian content and talent abroad. The International Promotion Program offers financial support for: Participation and attendance for international festivals, forums and events. International promotion campaigns. Telefilm-invited international initiatives.

Eligibility criteria of the International Promotion Program program:
  • Canadian-owned and controlled companies:
  • Companies specializing in production and distribution
  • Sales agencies of Canadian feature-length or short films (drama or documentary), television series or XR projects
  • Production companies invited to take part in a coproduction forum
  • Companies invited by Telefilm to participate in one of its international initiatives
  • Canadian short or feature length film, a TV series or an extended reality project (XR) from Canada that is:
  • Selected for a recognized international festival.
  • An eligible coproduction project recognized by the Minister of Canadian Heritage.
  • Telefilm recommends that applicants comply with the Government of Canadas Travel Advice and Advisories for any travel outside of Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.
