The subsidy program for private companies and institutions in Montreal offers up to $100,000 for the installation of electric charging stations, accessible to employees, customers and the public. The program gives companies and private institutions located in the Montréal agglomeration the chance to get a subsidy to install electric charging stations for the use of their staff, customers and the public. It is possible for the same company or institution to submit several applications for different street addresses.

Benefits of the Subsidy to Install Electric Charging Stations program:
  • The subsidy covers 50 per cent of the cost of the project and must be less than $100,000.
  • Maximum amounts are:
    • $5,000 per connector of a Level 2 charging station (provided that all connectors can be used at the same time and each vehicle has a parking space during charging)
    • $15,000 per 20kW to 49kW fast charging station
    • $50,000 per 50kW and 99kW fast charging station
    • $75,000 per 100kW+ fast charging station
Eligibility criteria of the Subsidy to Install Electric Charging Stations program:
  • The eligibility criteria for this grant are:
    • A legal person governed by private or public law, a partnership, limited partnership or joint venture, or an association
    • Registered with the Registraire des entreprises
    • A tenant or owner of a non-residential building located in the Montreal agglomeration
