Summer Student Farm Worker Bursary Program

The Summer Student Farm Worker Bursary Program (SSB) is an initiative by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of British Columbia (IAFBC) aimed at increasing youth and domestic seasonal worker employment in the province's agriculture sector during the summer seasons of 2024 and 2025.

Overview of the Summer Student Farm Worker Bursary Program program:

The SSB Program is designed to support summer labor needs, engage youth, and provide work experience in BC's agricultural sector. Eligible students can receive bursaries based on the total hours worked during the summer season, defined as May 1 to September 1. The bursary amounts are structured as follows: 250 hours: $1,500 500 hours: $3,000 Funding amounts may be prorated for hours worked between 250 and 500, allowing for flexible work periods that align with seasonal agricultural activities. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and students may apply without confirmed employment but will receive conditional approval pending employment verification.

  • Employment Sector: Employed or seeking employment in BC's primary agriculture, food, beverage, or seafood processing, fishing, or aquaculture sectors.
