Wellness Grant Fund

The Wellness Grant Fund, formerly known as the Consumer Development Program (CDP), is an initiative by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) South Okanagan Similkameen Branch.

Overview of the Wellness Grant Fund program:

The Wellness Grant Fund is a consumer-run committee that administers funds to support advocacy, self-help, education, and consumer initiatives. The committee comprises consumers, family members, and advisors from the Interior Health Mental Health Team and CMHA. Two committees operate: one in Penticton (covering Penticton, Princeton, and Keremeos) and another in Oliver (covering Oliver and Osoyoos). The fund supports adults with mental illness in accessing opportunities for physical health, education, and personal growth.

Eligibility criteria of the Wellness Grant Fund program:
  • Have the proposed activity as part of an established rehabilitative plan developed with a mental health worker or clinician.
  • Demonstrate that the activity will contribute to personal growth, skill development, or mental wellness.
  • Attend the committee meeting to present their application or have a representative (e.g., program coordinator, family member, friend, worker) present on their behalf.
