Overview of the Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages program:

The Young Canada Works (YCW) program in Official Languages offers funding to employers for creating job opportunities for young Canadians. It supports projects that enhance the use and promotion of Canada's official languages, focusing on providing practical work experience in bilingual environments. Eligible employers include non-profits, public institutions, and private organizations that promote French and English languages. The program aims to help young Canadians develop language skills, gain work experience, and foster cultural awareness

Eligibility criteria of the Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages program:
  • An employer may be eligible if it is:
  • A private, public, non-profit organization, or a municipality;
  • Incorporated;
  • Involved in national, provincial, territorial, municipal or community activities;
  • Conducting activities in both official languages; and
  • Stable and financially healthy.
  • An employer is not eligible if it is:
  • A federal department, federal agency or Crown Corporation; or
  • A provincial or territorial government department.
