The goal is to support projects that enhance the neighborhood environment, contributing to its vibrancy and vitality.

Eligibility criteria of the Youth Development & Engagement Grant program:
  • Be between 13 and 24 years old.
  • Live in the City of Kelowna.
  • Have at least one other youth committed to co-leading the project.
  • Reside in the neighborhood where the project will take place.
  • Have a project sponsor if all team members are under 19 years old.
  • Eligible Activities and Expenses:
  • Equipment and Materials: Items intended for community use, not for personal ownership.
  • Contract Services: Hiring professionals like master gardeners, carpenters, or artists if no local resident can provide the required skills.
  • Promotional and Translation Services: Costs related to promoting the project or providing translations.
  • Equipment Rental: Rental costs for necessary equipment.
  • Skill Training: Expenses for training needed for the project, such as FOODSAFE certification.
  • Food Expenses: Limited to $10 per person, for events or projects that enhance the neighborhood.
