Artists in Communities - Projects

The Artists in Communities – Projects program provides funding to support collaborative, arts-based projects between professional artists and community organizations in Saskatchewan that address local priorities and offer meaningful, creative engagement for community members.
  • Saskatchewan Arts Board
Overview of the Artists in Communities - Projects program:

The program supports unique, co-created projects that bring together professional artists and community organizations to collaboratively design and implement arts-focused activities in Saskatchewan communities. These projects are expected to respond to specific local needs, foster inclusion, raise awareness of social issues, and create opportunities for artistic growth for both participants and artists. The program emphasizes partnerships based on mutual respect, shared leadership, and ongoing community engagement. Projects may explore traditional or contemporary art forms and must actively involve community members in the creative process. Applications involving Indigenous cultural practices or worldviews must include the participation of an Elder or Knowledge Keeper, with documented consent and involvement. The program welcomes applicants from a diversity of backgrounds, including Indigenous, rural, 2SLGBTQ+, Deaf and disability artists, and newcomers to Canada. Community may be defined geographically or socially, and all projects must include a free, public-facing component and meet SK Arts' standards for accessibility, equity, and cultural respect.
