Overview of the Community Grants (Edmonton Community Foundation) program:

The Community Grants Program, operated by the Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF), is designed to strengthen the Greater Edmonton Area by providing substantial financial support to charitable organizations and qualified donees. The program is flexible, addressing a wide variety of organizational needs, including renovations, equipment purchases, program support, and other community-driven priorities.

  • Flexible funding for diverse organizational needs.
  • Access to up to $80,000 in financial support.
  • Two application cycles annually (Spring and Fall).
  • Transparent, community-led decision-making.
  • Ongoing support and accountability guidance.
Eligibility criteria of the Community Grants (Edmonton Community Foundation) program:
  • Applicants must meet ALL FOUR of these criteria to have their application considered for the Community Grants
  • Program:
  • Are a Registered Canadian Charity or other qualified donee1
  • .2. Are based in and/or serve the Greater Edmonton Area, including the four surrounding counties and
  • Indigenous qualified donees located within Treaty 6 Territory.
  • Are in good standing with ECF, with no outstanding or overdue final reports, including those from
  • Partnership initiatives.
  • Applicants who have applied for or been declined a Community Grant in the previous cycle (i.e. Spring
  • 2025) are not eligible to apply in the current cycle.
