Overview of the Organization Development Grants program program:

This grant program is designed to support non-profit organizations in Kelowna that seek to strengthen their operations and increase their ability to deliver meaningful services to the community. The funding is intended to support projects beyond regular operations, such as board governance training, strategic planning, developing fund development strategies, or training in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices. By providing financial support, the program enables organizations to hire consultants, participate in training, and pursue other activities that build capacity and sustainability. The City of Kelowna emphasizes projects that aim to create resilience, improve governance structures, and foster innovation in addressing the needs of the community.

Eligibility criteria of the Organization Development Grants program program:

• To qualify for the grant, organizations must meet these requirements:
• Be a registered non-profit or charity.
• Operate within Kelowna for at least two years.
• Have a mission aligned with sport, cultural, social service, or event activities.
• Have a volunteer Board of Directors.
• Previously received support from the City of Kelowna through programs like Community Social Development or Cultural Operating Grants.
