Overview of the Own Your Future BIZ Futures program:

Own Your Future" is a comprehensive program designed to support entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities in launching and growing their businesses. This initiative offers a unique blend of financial support, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help founders build sustainable and successful enterprises. The program is geared towards helping participants navigate the complexities of starting and scaling a business, with a focus on fostering diversity and inclusion within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Benefits of the Own Your Future BIZ Futures program:
  • Financial Support: Eligible entrepreneurs can receive up to $25,000 in non-repayable grants to help fund their business ventures. This funding can be used for various business needs such as product development, marketing, operational costs, and scaling efforts.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Entrepreneurs will be paired with experienced mentors who will provide tailored advice and support throughout the program. This mentorship covers critical areas such as business strategy, marketing, financial management, and more.

Eligibility criteria of the Own Your Future BIZ Futures program:
  • To be eligible for the "Own Your Future" program, applicants must:
  • Be a resident of Ontario, Canada.
  • Identify as a member of an underrepresented community (e.g., Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ+, women, persons with disabilities).
  • Be the owner or co-owner of an early-stage business or startup.
  • Have a clear business plan and a demonstrated need for financial support and mentorship.
  • Commit to participating in all program activities, including mentorship sessions, workshops, and networking events.
