The Springboard Grant is intended to increase the capacity of Alberta organisations to complete good projects which contribute to our Focus Areas of Nature-based Solutions & Conservation, Climate Resilience & Emissions Reductions.

Overview of the Springboard Grant program:

The Springboard Grant Program, organized by Ecotrust Canada, provides funding for projects that promote innovative approaches to environmental and social challenges. It supports initiatives focused on sustainability, community development, and ecological resilience. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, Indigenous groups, and community-based organizations. The program offers grants to help develop and implement projects that align with Ecotrust Canada's mission to create a sustainable and equitable future.

Eligibility criteria of the Springboard Grant program:
  • Eligible Organizations:
  • Registered charities
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Band Councils, Tribal Councils, Tribal Associations, Tribal Governments, and Indigenous community organizations in Alberta
  • Eligible Activities:
  • Training and technical skill development
  • Support for staff or contractors
  • Equipment procurement
  • Networking and partnership development
  • Environmental outcome evaluation
  • Initiatives integrating social equity, diversity, or Indigenous perspectives
  • Requirements:
  • Initiatives must enhance capacity in at least one Focus Area.
  • Start date: upon approval; end date: within 12 months of approval.
