To provide potential entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge necessary to start and successfully operate a small business
Is designed to assist unemployed or underemployed individuals to create and maintain self-sustaining jobs through the self-employment option (Underemployed means current job is casual or part-time, working less than 20 hours per week, and unable to find full-time work that makes use of it education or it work experience)

Eligibility criteria of the Self-Employment Program Saskatchewan program:

Individuals who meet the general eligibility requirements must undergo a thorough pre-screening to determine their suitability for Self-Employment. This pre-screening is followed by a more detailed assessment by a Community Futures office specializing in business development.
A resident of Saskatchewan
Able to attend and participate full-time in the development and implementation of the business
Personals with a potentially viable and self-sustaining business idea that meets the criteria for eligible businesses
