Overview of the Small Projects Grant (Mississauga) program:

The Small Projects Grant (SPG) is a community support initiative offered by the City of Mississauga. It is designed to fund small-scale, impactful projects that enhance community engagement, active living, and local connections. The program is open to registered community groups and BIAs, with the purpose of extending the variety of programs and services available to residents. Projects supported through this grant can include skill-building workshops, leadership training, digital literacy initiatives, community gatherings, mentorship programs, active living activities, enhancements to existing community programs, or the introduction of new services that remove barriers to participation. By funding up to $2,500 per project, the City aims to empower grassroots organizations to create positive community change and expand access to inclusive opportunities. The program emphasizes building stronger neighborhoods, fostering social connections, and encouraging healthier, more engaged lifestyles for Mississauga residents. To ensure projects align with community needs and program guidelines, applicants are encouraged to consult City staff prior to applying. While only registered groups with the City’s Community Group Registry Program are eligible, informal groups may still apply if partnered with a registered sponsor.
