The Creating, Knowing and Sharing: Small-Scale Activities program, offered by the Canada Council for the Arts, provides grants to support Indigenous individuals, groups, and collectives for activities related to the arts. This initiative aims to enhance the creation, transmission, and sharing of artistic and cultural knowledge within Indigenous communities in Canada. The program is specifically designed to offer flexibility for small-scale projects that can have a meaningful impact on Indigenous art, culture, and knowledge transmission. Eligibility criteria of the Creating, Knowing and Sharing: Small-Scale Activities program:
  • To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Who: The program is open to Indigenous individuals, groups, and collectives who are either First Nations, Inuit, or Metis.
  • Location: Applicants must be based in Canada.
  • Types of Projects: The program supports small-scale activities, such as professional development, artistic creation, sharing of knowledge, mentorship, or cultural practices.
  • Other Requirements: Applicants must identify as an Indigenous person or collective and engage in activities related to arts, culture, or knowledge transmission. Organizations or for-profit enterprises are not eligible for this program.
