The Quality of Life Program offers grants of up to $1,000 per person each calendar year to assist individuals with MS in acquiring mobility equipment, safety aids, and assistive technology devices that enhance their independence and quality of life

Overview of the Quality of Life Program program:

MS Canada's Quality of Life Program is designed to alleviate the financial burden associated with purchasing essential equipment and assistive devices for individuals living with MS. The program provides grants to help cover the costs of items such as mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs, scooters, walkers), bathing aids, braces and supports, home computer adaptations, hospital beds, lift systems, kitchen aids, specialized clothing, toileting aids, transferring aids, and vehicle modifications. By facilitating access to these devices, the program aims to improve daily functioning, promote independence, and enhance the overall well-being of individuals affected by MS.

Eligibility criteria of the Quality of Life Program program:
  • To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of multiple sclerosis or an allied disease, verified by a healthcare professional.
  • Obtain an assessment of need from a healthcare professional for the requested equipment.
  • Be a resident of Canada.
  • Meet the low-income cut-off (LICO) criteria, with considerations for those experiencing financial hardship.
