  • Government of Canada
Overview of the Investments in Training Equipment Fund program:

The Investments in Training Equipment Fund is a federal funding initiative aimed at enhancing the capacity of Canadian organizations to deliver high-quality, hands-on training that responds to current labour market needs. This program is part of the larger Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program (SWSP), which supports projects that help workers and employers in key sectors overcome workforce challenges and address skills gaps. This specific stream of the SWSP helps eligible organizations acquire modern training equipment to improve the delivery of industry-relevant training. This includes funding for machinery, simulators, tools, and digital equipment that mirror real workplace conditions in in-demand sectors. The Fund is designed to strengthen Canada's training infrastructure and ensure that learners—particularly those from equity-deserving groups—gain practical, job-ready skills through improved access to quality training resources. The program places a strong emphasis on collaboration between training institutions and industry stakeholders to ensure the equipment purchased aligns with actual job requirements. Projects must support the development of workforce-ready individuals in sectors experiencing high demand or undergoing rapid transformation due to technological or economic change. Applicants are expected to demonstrate how the funded equipment will directly enhance training delivery, benefit targeted demographic groups (e.g., women, Indigenous peoples, racialized individuals), and improve employment outcomes for participants.
